Medvedev telephones Obama to congratulate him on birthday.

WASHINGTON, August 4 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian President Medvedev called
U.S. President Barack Obama on Wednesday, August 3, to wish him a happy
birthday and to discuss Russia's WTO accession negotiations.
The presidents noted the significant progress that had been made since
they spoke last a few weeks ago.
President Obama stressed the need for Russia to work with other WTO
members to close out the last remaining issues and bring the negotiations
to a successful conclusion by the end of the year.
Obama said earlier that Russia might be able to complete the accession
to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) by the end of this year.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton confirmed that Russia's admission
to the WTO remained a high priority for her country and pledged support of
the Americana government.
