Moscow authorities cancel 5 construction projects in city centre

MOSCOW (Itar-Tass) - The Moscow city authorities cancelled
ten investment projects, including five in the capital's centre, to save
the historic areas of the multibillion city from excessive construction,
chief architect Alexander Kuzmin said.
"We've cancelled ten investment contracts concluded earlier. This
mainly concerns those areas, where residents opposed the construction of
new buildings, including five facilities in the city's centre. This
demonstrates the mayor's new policy on maximum possible preservation of
the city's historic centre," he said.
The architect noted that the construction projects were cancelled on
Ostozhenka Street, Oruzheyny, Stremyanny and Maly Gnezdikovsky lanes.
