JOCA trains on sufficient waste disposal for students

VIENTIANE,AUG (KPL)- Japan Overseas Cooperative Association (JOCA) in cooperation with LPRYU to raise awareness on environment protection and an effective approach of waste disposal for students of Salakham secondary school, Vientiane Capital, on 4 August.
The volume of waste is now increasing in the Lao PDR, amounting to over 200 tonnes of waste per day, Deputy Chief of Cabinet Supervisor of International, Relation, Economic and IT Office Mr. Alounxai Sounnalath said at the JOCA Workshop on Environment Education Recycling for school models in the districts, at the Salakham Secondary School Vientiane Capital.
The waste disposal project for school in Vientiane started in 2009, which carried out in eight schools.
The Salakham school was the last one.
The project will be last at the end of this year and after the project will be then estimated the result.
The project will further conduct to other provinces countrywide, said, Mr. Alounxai Sounnalath.
This project is aimed at providing youths knowing how to save environment, recycle and waste disposal, and business related to the waste, he added.
The students were trained by representatives from JOCA.
