5/8 Tass 153
MOSCOW, August 5 (Itar-Tass) -- The Russian holding Gazprom plans to
sign with the South Korean company Kogas soon a road map specifying the
implementation of the project of supplies of Russian gas to the Republic
of Korea. A corresponding agreement was reached on Friday by deputy
chairman of the Gazprom board Alexander Ananenkov and chief executive
director of the company Kogas Choo Kang-soo.
The sides also discussed the tendencies of development of the global
market of energy resources and prospects for further development of
partnership in the oil and gas sphere. "Special attention was paid to
cooperation of the companies within the framework of implementation of the
Eastern Gas Programme" Gazprom's report says.
The companies signed in 2003 an agreement on cooperation which was
prolonged in 2008 for another five years. In June 2009, the sides signed
an agreement on a joint study of a gas supplies project. The document
envisages the study of variants of organizing gas supplies from the final
point of the gas transport system Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok to the
Republic of Korea.
