Tehran, Moscow to Increase Transportation Cooperation
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian and Russian officials in a meeting in Moscow inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on boosting transportation cooperation between the two countries, and underlined utilizing all capacities and potentials of both countries in this field.
The fifth meeting of joint Iran-Russia workgroup was held in Moscow and it was hosted by Russian Transportation Ministry.
Russian deputy transport minister, Alexander Davidenko emphasized on making use from all existing transportation capacities.
He expressed hope that completion of North-East international transportation route which is one of the most important projects of the country will be implemented in good manner at the presence of officials of both countries.
The North-South international route connects Iran, India, Russia and northern European countries.
Iran and Russia enjoy friendly ties and have signed numerous agreements in various fields in recent years.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Amir Mansour Borqaee and Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexei Borodavk in a meeting in June underlined the necessity for the implementation of the agreements signed between the two countries.
During the meeting, Borqaee and Borodavk called for accelerating the implementation of bilateral economic and political agreements.
