UAE Lauds Iran's Support for Palestinian People
TEHRAN (FNA)- The UAE Federal National Council Speaker Abdul Aziz Abdullah al-Ghurair underlined the significance of the issue of Palestine for the Muslim world, and praised Iran's support for the Palestinian uprising.
The issue was raised in a phone conversation with Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani.
Ghurair also appreciated the initiative of Iran on hosting the fifth international conference to support Intifada of Palestine in Tehran and called the conference a "significant and ingenious move."
The international conference on the Palestinian uprising (intifada) is scheduled to be held in the Iranian capital city of Tehran early in October.
Member of the Iranian parliament's Presiding Board Hossein Sobhaninia said in July that the conference, sponsored by the Iranian parliament, will be held to "find solutions for achieving the rights and ideals of Palestinians."
The conference is slated to take place in the Iranian capital, Tehran on October 1-2 with participation of different countries.
"The issue of Palestine is a major issue for the Islamic Ummah (community) and we should not allow it to be forgotten due to the developments of the region," the Emirati lawmaker underscored.
Larijani, for his part, congratulated Ramadan and invited the UAE Federal National Council Speaker to attend the international conference to support Palestinian Intifada.
