FM: No Major Problem in Iran-S. Arabia Ties

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi dismissed existence of any major problem in Iran-Saudi Arabia ties, and reiterated that Tehran and Riyadh can remove misunderstandings through negotiations.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting with Benin's Minister of Foreign Affairs Nassirou Arifari Bako here in Tehran on Saturday, Salehi stressed the key role of Tehran and Riyadh in the region.
"We have no specific problem in the bilateral ties with Saudi Arabia and we have announced that misunderstandings can be removed," Salehi underscored, in response to the question if Tehran-Riyadh relations are troubled.
Meantime, the Iranian minister pointed out that some parties are trying to disturb the two countries' relations.
Also in July, Salehi had said that resolving the minor problems in Iran-Saudi Arabia relations needs "holding negotiations".
"Saudi Arabia is an important country with which Iran has had long-lasting cordial relations," he said.
