Iran Exports $604mln Worth of Technical Services in 4 Months

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Deputy Industries, Mines and Trade Minister Ahmad Khademol Mellah announced that the volume of exports of the country's technical and engineering services reached $604mln in the first four months of the current Iranian year (started on March 21).
Khademol Mellah said that 66 Iranian industry and mines related companies are carrying out projects in 27 countries. More than 125 industrial and mining projects worth some $3.5bln are in the hands of Iranian contractors around the world.

He pointed out that most of the operating firms belong to the private sector. Iran aims at exporting $4.5bln worth of technical and engineering services in the current calendar year.

Iran's technical and engineering services exports reached $3.301bln in the previous year showing 7% increase compared to the preceding year's figure of $3.083bln.

Earlier, an Iranian trade official had announced that Iran's exports of technical and engineering services to the other countries in 2009 have surpassed $3bln worth in value despite the ongoing global economic recession.

"During 1387 (March 2008 to March 2009) a total number of 81 projects with a (total) value of $2.5bln have been concluded and the average value for each project stood at $31mln, while the number of projects concluded during the last year (2009-2010) reached 58 with an average value of 48mln (for each project)," Deputy Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran for Trade Assistance Kioumars Fathollah Kemanshahi said in 2010.
