Qatari Speaker Stresses Iran's Influential Regional Role
TEHRAN (FNA)- Speaker of the Qatari Advisory Council Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Kholaifi underlined Iran's key and influential role in region, saying that Tehran can help improve relations among regional states.
The issue was raised by Kholaifi in a meeting with Head of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi in the Qatari capital Doha on Sunday.
During the meeting, Boroujerdi submitted Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijani's message to his Qatari counterpart.
Boroujerdi headed to Doha on Saturday to submit Larijani's message to al-Kholaifi to invite him for the fifth international conference to support Intifada of Palestine.
The Qatari lawmaker stressed the necessity of consultations among the Islamic countries to help resolve the problems vis-à-vis the Muslim countries and the world.
He noted that the relations of the regional countries can greatly improve with the help of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Boroujerdi, for his part, said that the recent uprisings and the Islamic Awakening in North Africa and the Middle East have provided an opportunity to establish democracy in the countries.
