Turkish economy minister due to South Korea


ANKARA (A.A) - August 8, 2011 - Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan will hold talks in South Korea between August 9 and 13.
A commerce delegation including companies from food, natural stone, metal, mining and construction sectors will accompany Caglayan who will hold bilateral meetings with South Korean Trade Minister Kim Jong-Hoon, Knowledge Economy Minister Choi Joong-Kyung, and Land, Transport & Maritime Affairs Minister Kwon Do-Youb.
Caglayan will hold talks in Korean International Trade Association (KITA) on Thursday. He will also hold meetings with CEOs of South Korean companies, which take place in Global Fortune 500 list and have important investments in Turkey in infrastructure, architecture, construction, real estate, energy, iron-steel, banking, automotive and chemistry sectors, on Friday. 
Minister Caglayan and accompanying delegation will also visit Incheon Free Economy Zone, and meet representatives of Korean vocational institutions as well as Turkish businessmen in South Korea.
Trade volume between Turkey and South Korea was over five billion USD in 2010. Turkey's export to South Korea increased 30 percent to 304 million USD, and import rose 53 percent to 4.8 billion USD last year.
Turkey's export to South Korea rose 90 percent to 255 million USD while its import rose 59 percent to 3 billion USD in the first six month of 2011.
