Former police chief gets 6-year jail sentence for bribe-taking
SEOUL, Aug. 10 (Yonhap) -- A former police chief was sentenced to six years in prison on Wednesday for taking bribes in return for his influence peddling in a number of business deals and personnel affairs.

Prosecutors on Tuesday sought a two and a half year jail sentence for the lobbyist, Yoo Sang-bong. Also a businessman, Yoo is accused of brokering a number of contracts to operate lucrative makeshift cafeterias at construction sites and bribing officials of construction firms and police in the process.
