Lebanese Minister: Assassination of Iranian Elites Signifies Enemy's Weakness

TEHRAN (FNA)- Lebanese Interior Minister Marwan Charbel condemned assassination of Iranian scientists and academic figures, and said such moves prove the weakness of the enemies of Iran.
The issue was raised in a meeting with Tehran's Ambassador to Beirut Qazanfar Roknabadi in the Lebanese capital city on Wednesday.

Charbel lauded Iran's progress, and underscored that assassination of Iran's nuclear scientists and scientific elites demonstrates the helplessness and weakness of the Zionist enemy.

He invited his Iranian counterpart to pay a visit to Lebanon, and voiced Beirut's preparedness to further boost bilateral relations with Tehran in different fields.

During the meeting, Roknabadi submitted Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar's message to Charbel.

Iran's young scientist, Daryoush Rezayeenejad, a brilliant post graduate student in the field of Power and Electronics, was gunned down late in July in the country's capital city of Tehran by two unknown terrorists.

On November 29, 2010, two other Iranian academics became the target of terrorist attacks.

Unidentified terrorists detonated bombs in the vehicles of Dr. Majid Shahriari and Professor Fereydoun Abbasi in separate locations in Tehran. Shahriari was killed immediately but Abbasi and his wife sustained injuries.

Later, the Iranian Intelligence Ministry announced that Mossad, CIA and MI6 spy agencies played a role in those attacks.
