Iranian Speaker Invites Omani Counterpart to Conference on Palestine

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani officially invited his Omani counterpart Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al Isa'ee to attend the 5th Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada (uprising) to be held in Tehran in October.
The invitation letter of Larijani was presented to Al Isa'ee by Head of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi.

During the meeting, Boroujerdi described the issue of Palestine as an important matter in the Islamic World and hailed the Omani government's stance in this regard.

Boroujerdi said Al Isa'ee's visit to Tehran would be an opportunity for the officials of the two countries to discuss recent developments in the Islamic World, particularly the Middle East and the Persian Gulf.

Al Isa'ee's, for his part, welcomed Iran's initiative for hosting the conference on Intifada and expressed gratitude for the Islamic Republic's effective and significant role with regards to the issue of Palestine.

An international conference on the Palestinian uprising is scheduled to be held in the Iranian capital city of Tehran on October 1-2.
