Four people drown in southwestern S. Korea

SEOCHEON, South Korea, Aug. 13 (Yonhap) -- Four people drowned on Saturday while playing a mock cavalry-battle game at a beach in this southwestern village, police said.
The three men and one woman were among 17 people, mostly in their mid or late 20s who visited this village for an weekend gathering, they said.
The accident happened around 4 p.m. when they were jostled into deeper water during the athletic game, police said, quoting witnesses. Thirteen people managed to get out, but four were later found dead, they said.
"All of us suddenly fell into deeper water while playing a mock cavalry-battle game," said one of the survivors, identified only by his surname Choi.
The 17 are all students and graduates of a university in Gunsan, south of Seocheon.
Police said they were investigating the exact cause of the accident.
In the mock cavalry-battle game, four people were grouped into one team with a person playing a jockey's role and three others playing a horse's role.
