Iran, Turkey Review Latest Developments in Syria

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu in a phone conversation conferred on the latest developments in the region, specially in Syria.
During the phone conversation on Sunday, the two top diplomats also discussed expansion of mutual relations along with regional developments over phone.

Earlier this month, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem announced that the country will hold free and transparent parliamentary elections by the end of the year.

Syrian President also issued a decree, authorizing a multi-party political system in the Middle Eastern country.

Syria has been experiencing unrest in the past months, with demonstrations held both against and in support of the Assad government.

Hundreds were killed when some protest rallies turned into armed clashes after alleged protesters opened gunfire at state security forces and well-armed gangs started well-organized attacks against the Syrian police force and border guards in North of the country.
