Three killed as single-engine plane crashes in Leningrad region

St PETERSBURG, August 16 (Itar-Tass) - A total of three persons died
on the territory of the Leningrad region Monday when a private
single-engine plane crashed into a local river near the town of Kuksino, a
hundred kilometers away from St Petersburg.
Early information indicates the four-seat plane might have hitched on
a power transmission line.
"The bodies of three men were found inside the plane that was
recovered from the waters of the river Tiboda at 23:10 Monday," the press
service of the regional branch of the Ministry for Emergency Situations
and Civil Defense /EMERCOM/ said.
At the time of reporting, a special investigative commission was on
its way to the site of the crash.
