AVTOVAZ supplies 250 cars to DPRK in Jan-June

SAMARA, August 16 (Itar-Tass) -- AVTOVAZ supplied 250 cars to the
Democratic People's Republic of Korea in the first half of this year. As
the press centre of the works reported on Tuesday, "supplies are carried
out within the framework of cooperation with North Korean company Lukas
Trading Limited launched in 2008.
In 2008, AVTOVAZ concluded a contract on supplies of 600 Lada Priora
cars and 250 Lada 4x4 outlanders to North Korea for the needs of state
agencies. AVTOVAZ specialists, who taught Korean colleagues the
peculiarities of maintenance of Russian cars, were sent to the
company-importer.
In 2009, 530 cars were supplied to the company Lukas Trading Limited.
In 2010, there were no supplies due to the lack of orders.
Neighbour of AVTOVAZ - - the Ulyanovsk Car Works also supplies cars to
North Korea. This summer a batch of UAZ-3962 ambulances were made for
North Korea. The Ulyanovsk Car Works began supplying outlanders to North
Korea back in the middle of the 50ies of the last century. The first batch
of UAZ cars was supplied to North Korea in 1956.
