Afghan MP Blasts Foreign Forces' Weak Performance in Afghanistan
TEHRAN (FNA)- A member of the Afghan parliament strongly criticized the western forces' weak performance in restoring peace and stability in Afghanistan, and opposed a longer presence of the foreign forces in his war-torn country.
"During the past 10 years, foreign forces in Afghanistan have made no achievement but massacring tens of Afghan citizens and destroying people's homes," Abdol Jabbar Qahreman told FNA in Kabul on Tuesday.
He added that the foreign forces have increasingly failed to establish peace and stability in the different provinces of Afghanistan.
As regards the root causes of such failure, Qahreman stated, "Foreign forces are not familiar with Afghanistan's culture, people's traditions and national values and are not able to devise proper plans and programs for the country."
Meantime, the Afghan lawmakers said his people are totally displeased with the performance of the foreign troops in Afghanistan, specially in provinces such as Helmand.
Most world countries, including Iran, have blamed the foreign forces for continued instability in Afghanistan and have called for a complete pullout from the country, which first went under invasion and occupation by the US-led NATO troops in 2001.
