Iranian Parliament Condemns Terrorist Attacks in Norway

TEHRAN (FNA)- Head of the Iranian parliament's Human Rights Commission Zohreh Elahian in a letter to Norwegian Parliament Speaker Dag Terje Andersen deplored the recent terrorist attack in the country, and voiced her deep sorrow over the death of a number of Norwegian nationals in Oslo incidents.
In her letter, Elahian condemned the terrorist attack, and condoled with the Norwegian parliament and people on the blast and shooting spree which claimed the lives of scores of Norwegian citizens.

She also said that terrorism has today turned into a tool in the hands of a number of world powers to attain their illegitimate wishes and despite different international conventions against terrorism, the ominous phenomenon is spreading across the world.

Norway was last month coming to terms with one of the worst atrocities in recent European history as police revealed that 91 people died in the deadly attacks in the center of Oslo and on a nearby island summer camp.

The killings, it now seems clear, were carried out by a 32-year old Norwegian, named by local media as Anders Behring Breivik, who had expressed far-right views, and had dressed as a policeman to carry out his bomb attack on government buildings in central Oslo before heading to the island of Utoya, where he shot at least 84 people.

In several online postings, Anders Behring Breivik, the confessed perpetrator of the attack, promoted fiercely anti-Islamic and far-right Zionist views, calling for "the deportation of all Muslims from Europe" as well as from "the West Bank and the Gaza Strip".
