Kyrgyzstan pledges further assistance to Enduring Freedom

BISHKEK, August 16 (Itar-Tass) - Kyrgyzstan plans to provide further
assistance to the United States and other countries of the anti-terrorism
coalition in conducting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, Defense
Minister Abibilla Kudaiberdiyev said on Tuesday at the meeting with
Brigadier General Vincent Brooks of US Central Command.
"We further plan to make our possible contribution to the fight
against international terrorism in Operation Enduring Freedom, including
that through providing our territory for transit of humanitarian
consignments and commercial cargoes to Afghanistan," he said.
Kyrgyzstan also hopes for further "promotion of common projects taking
into consideration the two countries' interests" as well as "for a new
impetus to be given to cooperation" between the Central Asian republic's
Defence Ministry and the US Central Command.
Kudaiberdiyev also noted that of late Kyrgyzstan's armed forces became
"a full-fledged member of international military cooperation," therefore
in any time they are ready to take part in UN peacekeeping operations in
hot spots of the world.
In turn, Brooks assured that the U.S. was interested in a stronger
partnership with Kyrgyzstan and noted that he highly appreciated bilateral
cooperation, as it has many points of contact.
