AUSTRALIAN COURT ACQUITS THREE INDONESIAN FISHERMEN

Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Sept 19 (ANTARA) - Austraian Northern Territory's high court in Darwin has freed three Indonesian fishermen from illegal fishing and entry charges, one of them said here Friday.
Bogas and two other fishermen, Fikar abd Cecep, arrived back in Kupang last Monday (Sept 15) from Darwin where they had attended the court hearings.
He said he and his two colleagues were acquitted by the court's panel of judges from all the charges that had been made against them by the Australian Fishing Management Authority (AFMA).
They had attended the court sessions from September 9 to 12, 2008 on charges of entering the Australian waters to poach fish.
