TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi invited his Lebanese counterpart Fayiz Ghosn to pay a visit to Iran.
The invitation was delivered to Ghosn by Iran's Ambassador to Lebanon Qazanfar Roknabadi in Beirut on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation between Tehran and Beirut in different fields.
Ghosn, for his part, voiced his preparedness to pay a visit to Tehran in a bid to explore ways to expand mutual cooperation.
He also thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for its continued support for the Lebanese and other regional nations, Palestinians in particular.
Roknabadi pointed to Iran's capabilities in different fields, specially in the defense sector, and stressed that Tehran is prepared to boost cooperation with Lebanon and transfer its experiences to that country.
Iranian and Lebanese officials have recently doubled their efforts to further expand the bilateral relations and mutual cooperation between the two countries.
Earlier, Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour stressed Iran's role in the establishment of peace and security in the region, and said Beirut is eager to develop bilateral relations with Iran in all fields.
