MiG-35 turned down by India to be used by Russian Armed Forces.
ZHUKOVSKY, Moscow region, August 18 (Itar-Tass) -- The MiG-35 fighter
plane turned down by India will be used by the Russian Armed Forces,
Rosoboronexport Director-General Anatoly Isaikin said.
The Russian aircraft participated in the Indian Defence Ministry's
tender for a national fighter plane, but the American counterpart won.
Isaikin refused to comment on possible reasons for the tender
committee's decision but recalled that "the organisers of the tender set
forth strict requirements".
"A possible reason may be that some of the components used in the
MiG-35 - instruments and armaments - which we installed on the plane did
not pass state testing," he said.
"The MiG-35 is an excellent plane and it will find its use in the
Russian Armed Force," Isaikin added.
