Gov't to award certificates to donors toward education
SEOUL, Aug. 19 (Yonhap) -- The education ministry said Friday it will give certificates of donation to those who contribute human resources and financial support to school education, as part of efforts to encourage more philanthropy of this kind.
The recognition, which will also come with a plate bearing the inscription "DE???Donation for Education," could be used to promote donors' images as well as other promotional activity, the ministry said.
Companies, organizations or individuals that consistently operate quality education programs, provide lectures or mentoring services and offer education materials, equipment and facilities will be eligible for this recognition, ministry officials said.
The ministry will select first recipients of the certificates later this month, officials said.
