Pakistani PM to Visit Iran mid September

TEHRAN (FNA)- Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is due to pay a visit to Tehran mid September to discuss ways of expanding mutual cooperation between the two neighboring countries, a senior Iranian diplomat announced on Sunday.
"Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani will travel to Tehran in mid September at the invitation of Iranian First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi," Iranian Ambassador to Islamabad Mahshallah Shakeri told FNA.

Shakeri described expansion of border, economic and security cooperation between the two countries as the main goal pursued by Gilani during his visit to Tehran.

Iran and Pakistan have been enjoying cordial and brotherly ties for a long time.

Analysts say that strong bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan are vital for the stability of the region.

Earlier in July, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari in Tehran underscored the necessity for the expansion of cooperation between the two neighbors in all arenas, specially in agricultural, industrial and energy fields.
