Putin to chair ONF Fed Council meeting on results of primaries

MOSCOW, August 23 (Itar-Tass) - Vladimir Putin will chair a meeting of
the Federal Coordinating Council (FCC) of the ONF (Russian acronym for
All-Russia Popular Front) on Tuesday. The Council is to review the
intermediate results of the preliminary voting, during which, on Aug 25, a
decision will be made on contenders who aspire to be included in the list
of candidates to participate in elections to the State Duma lower house of
the Russian parliament.
At the the close of primaries on Aug 25, lists with results will be
referred to the FCC for consideration and summing up of preliminary
results. Regional conferences of the United Russia party (URP) are to be
held in all consituent entities of the Russian Federation from September 6
to 17. The conferences are to endorse lists of candidates from each region
to run for the State Duma. A final aggregate list will name 600
candidates. It is to be approved an an URP congress which is to be held in
Moscow from September 23 to 24.
