IRGC Commander: Regional Rulers Should Learn from Fate of Ousted Dictators
TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) underlined that the rulers of the regional countries should learn from the fate of those dictators who were ousted due to their negligence to the people's demands and their support for the Zionist regime.
"The most important message of the Quds Day is that US- and Israeli-backed dictators in the region should learn from the fate of the Egyptian Pharaoh (Hosni Mubarak), (Tunisia's deposed ruler Zine El Abidine) Ben Ali, and (Libya's dictator Muammar) Gaddafi, and abide by the will of their nations, and renounce support for the Zionist regime," General Ramzan Sharif, a deputy commander of the IRGC, said.
He also referred to the upcoming last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan, marking the International Day of Quds, and told reporters on Tuesday that today we are witnessing a surging resentment against the "Zionist regime".
General Sharif further expressed hope for the expansion of unity among Muslims following the fall of pro-Western tyrants, leading to a siege of Israel.
Millions of people are expected to take part in the International Quds Day (Friday, August 26) rallies in solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people and all oppressed nations around the world.
The International Quds Day was started by the late Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, in 1979 as a way of expressing solidarity with the Palestinians and underscoring importance of the holy Quds to Muslims.
International Quds Day is an annual event opposing Israel's occupation of Beitul-Muqaddas. Anti-Zionist rallies and demonstrations are held on the last Friday of Ramadan in Muslim and Arab countries around the world, specially in Iran.
