Korea Express Q2 net gains 15 pct
SEOUL, Aug. 25 (Yonhap) -- Korea Express Co., South Korea's leading logistics firm, said Thursday that its second-quarter earnings soared almost 15 percent from a year earlier on a steady increase in sales.
Net profit reached 21.6 billion won (US$19.9 million) in the April-June period, compared with a profit of 18.8 billion won a year earlier, the company said in a regulatory filing.
Sales rose 6.4 percent to 633 billion won over the cited period, and operating income gained 4.2 percent to 42.7 billion won, it said.
Shares of Korea Express were trading at 87,700 won on the Seoul bourse as of 10:10 a.m., up 2.57 percent.
