Kyodo News launches portal introducing Japan on Xinhua's website
TOKYO, Aug. 25 Kyodo - Kyodo News on Thursday launched a Chinese-language portal to introduce Japan on the website of China's official Xinhua News Agency.
Kyodo plans to use the portal, called ''Riben Daguan''(Watch Japan) in Chinese, to report on sightseeing, food culture, companies and universities in Japan through Xinhua's website, which boasts more than 100 million page views a day.
Kyodo also plans to carry information on Japan's reconstruction following the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
Kyodo and Xinhua hope that the portal will help to deepen mutual understanding between the two countries and boost their economies. The portal is also aimed at Japanese companies conducting business with China and increasing the number of Chinese tourists visiting Japan, they said.
