SK Telecom denies reports over Hulu takeover plan

SEOUL, Aug. 26 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's leading mobile carrier SK Telecom Co. on Friday said it has no plans to make a bid for U.S. online streaming site Hulu LLC.
   "SK Telecom is not considering taking part in the takeover of U.S. video service firm Hulu and has no intention to take part in the acquisition," the company said in a regulatory filing.
   The flat denial comes on the heels of reports that SK Telecom may submit a letter of intent this week.
   Shares of the leading carrier were trading at 152,500 won as of 10:26 a.m., unchanged from Thursday's close.
