China and DPRK to strengthen military cooperation

BEIJING, August 26 (Itar-Tass) -- Cooperation of China and the DPRK in
the military sphere will promote world and regional stability, Chinese
Defence Minister Liang Gunaglie said at a meeting with a delegation of the
Korean People's Army here on Friday.
"China will continue strengthening military contacts with DPRK, which
will promote the building up of military ties between the two countries,"
Liang Guanglie stressed. "Our cooperation in the military sphere will
positively influence the prosperity of the two countries' peoples."
A representative of the North Korean delegation, for his part, said
that "the DPRK will continue cooperating with the Chinese Armed Forces on
different issues of mutual interest."
