Tehran Hosts Int'l Contest of Anti-Terrorism Cartoons, Photos
TEHRAN (FNA)- The International contest on anti-terrorism photos and cartoons started in Tehran on Saturday in the presence of Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Seyed Mohammad Hosseini.
Exhibition of winners' works was inaugurated on Saturday afternoon in the presence Hosseini, Deputy Minister in Art Affairs Hamid Shahabadi and director general for Visual Arts Mahmoud Shalouei and a group of artists.
The exhibition will be open until September 9, 2011 in Tehran.
In cartoon section, the winner was from Iran, while Brazilian and British competitors came second and third.
In photo section, all three winners were from Iran.
In cartoons, one thousand and 533 works from 64 countries were received for contest section, of which 150 works by foreign and Iranian artists were chosen for exhibition.
In pictures, 400 works from 40 artists were received by secretariat of the contest from which 46 pictures by 13 photographers were chosen for exhibition.
