SK Engineering wins US$19 mln deal from Qatar

SEOUL, Aug. 29 (Yonhap) -- South Korean builder SK Engineering & Construction Co. said Monday that it has clinched a US$19 million contract to establish an industrial control system for gas plant facilities in Qatar.
   Under the deal with Qatar Petroleum, SK Engineering will improve a computer system that monitors and controls industrial processes of gas plant facilities in three gas fields in Doha, Ras Laffan and Mesaieed.
   The project will be completed in May 2014, the builder said.
   SK Engineering said that the deal will help the company expand its business portfolio to the communications sector and strengthen business partnership with the Middle Eastern country.
