Hyundai E&C ranks 23rd in world

SEOUL, Aug. 29 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., South Korea's top builder, was the world's 23rd biggest builder in terms of international revenue this year, an industry magazine said Monday.
   According to Engineering News Record, Hyundai E&C ranked 23rd on the 2011 top international contractors list for a second consecutive year based on revenues from overseas contracts in 2010.
   There were three more South Korean builders in the top 50 companies. Samsung Engineering Co. placed 34th, up one notch from the previous year, Daelim Industries Co. was 41st and GS Engineering & Construction Corp. was 48th.
   German builder Hochtief AG. is the largest international builder, followed by France's Vinci SA. and Bechtel of the United States, the magazine said.
   In a top global contractor list estimated by combined international and domestic revenue, Hyundai E&C was 30th, highest among the South Korean builders, followed by GS Engineering ranking 35th and Samsung C&T Corp. placing at 39th, said the magazine.
