S. Korea condemns suicide bomb attack on U.N. compound in Nigeria
SEOUL, Aug. 29 (Yonhap) -- South Korea condemned on Monday the "inhumane" suicide bomb attack on the United Nations compound in Nigeria that killed at least 18 people.
In a statement, Foreign Ministry spokesman Cho Byung-jae said Seoul "strongly condemns the terrorist bombing that targeted the U.N. headquarters in Nigeria as it is an inhumane act that cannot be justified under any circumstances."
South Korea also extended its "deep sympathy and condolences to the innocent victims and their families," Cho said.
A suicide car bomb exploded at the U.N. compound in the Nigerian capital of Abuja on Friday, killing at least 18 people and injuring dozens. There was no confirmed claim of responsibility for the attack.
