Lao Airlines purchase two airbuses

VIENTIANE,AUG.(KPL)- The Lao Airlines has purchased two new airbuses A320 from France after successfully borrowing US$91 million from the Bank of the Lao PDR and Banque pour le Commerce Exterieur Lao (BCEL).
The signing ceremony for purchasing was held in Vientiane last Friday between General Director of Lao Airlines, Mr. Somphone Duangdala and Senior President of Airbus Industries Company, Mr. Jean Francois Laval.
Mr. Somphone said that the Airbus A320 with 142 seats is produced in France.
He added that the first new airbuses will arrive at the Wattay International Airport, Vientiane Capital at the first of October and second end November this year.
The new airbus will provide the international flight service this year. The flight of airbus will be available for service between Vientiane and Singapore by early November this year, said Mr. Somphone.
They will be also flight between Vientiane and Guangzhou (China) and Vientiane and Seoul in 2012-2013.
The plan is also designed to support the increased number of tourists, averaging 15-20 per cent
annually.
