BISHKEK, August 30 (Itar-Tass) - Russia is interested in stable
development of Kyrgyzstan, the president's chief of staff, Sergei
Naryshkin, said at the meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart Emirbek
Kaptagayev.
"We are interested in Kyrgyzstan's dynamic development," he said. "We
hope that the presidential election in Kyrgyzstan (scheduled for October
30) will take place in full compliance with democratic standards, which
will strengthen the republic's statehood more."
The election "will be a step forward from the point of view of
Kyrgyzstan's social and economic development and from the point of view of
our bilateral relations," Naryshkin said.
Emirbek Kaptagayev noted in turn that "the upcoming presidential
election will complete a transitional period in Kyrgyzstan."
"We hope that Russia will take part in the upcoming election as an
observer. And this will be a serious contribution to the development of
our relations," he said.
