Altai Terr to present investprojects in State Duma in mid-Sep
BARNAUL, August 31 (Itar-Tass) - Altai Territory Days (ATD) are to be
held in the State Duma for the first time from September 21 to 23. Altai
authorities hope both to introduce economic projects to the
parliamentarians and suggest that they literally taste what Altai is proud
of.
The principal aim of the ATD is to present the socio-economic
potential and the Territory's attractiveness investments-wise, a regional
administration official has told Itar-Tass. "We must show the Territory's
visage to the lawmakers and everything the best that has been achieved in
recent years," Vice-Governor Mikhail Shchetinin pointed out.
It is planned that the Altai delegation will meet with the leadership
of the State Duma, take part in a plenary session and discuss sectoral
matters in detail in the House committees.
Duma members are also expected duly to appreciated the Altar
Territory's hospitality. The House members will be treated to Altai's
brand foodstuffs: honey, cheese, and meat products. It is precisely in
Altai that the largest amount of Siberia's honey is produced. As regards
rennet cheses, Altai Territory is undoubtedly an all-Russia leader, with
every seventh tonne of domestic cheese produced.
An Altai Territory exhibition will be arranged in the State Duma to
describe the main investment projects. These include a "75 by 75" project
providing for the consruction of 75 socially significant facilities for
the Territory's 75th jubilee; a "100 by 100" project envisaging the
construction of 200 dairy and livestock raising farms, as well as an
Altaiskoye Priobye (Altai areas near the Ob River) megaproject, valued at
over 590,000 million roubles.Tjere are other projects as well, such as,
for example. a biopharmaceutical cluster in Altai.
