MOSCOW, August 31 (Itar-Tass) - Russian-Chinese space cooperation is
promising but it is not detailed enough, the deputy head of the Russian
federal space agency Roskosmos, Vitaly Davydov, told a news conference on
Wednesday.
"We plan to cooperate in science, manned astronautics and space
navigation, which will improve the accuracy and reliability of navigation
systems," he said.
But, according to Davydov, " we lack specific content."
"The scope of advanced cooperation is big, but problems emerge when we
approach specific tasks," he said.
Davydov recalled that both Russia and China were involved in the Mars
exploration program. The Russian spacecraft Phobos-Grunt will be launched
together with the Chinese YingHuo-1 probe. The Chinese spacecraft will
orbit Mars for a year, and the Russian probe will take a sample of soil
from Mars' moon Phobos.
