Ex-Alaska Gov. Palin to visit Korea for forum

SEOUL, Sept. 2 (Yonhap) -- Sarah Palin, a potential U.S. presidential candidate, will visit South Korea next month to attend an international forum, organizers said.
The former Alaska governor is scheduled to join the World Knowledge Forum, an annual conference of business leaders, slated for Oct. 11-13 in Seoul, according to the organizers.
She plans to speak about the U.S. economy and diplomacy at the forum and also meet with South Korea's politicians on the sidelines of the event, they said. It would be her first visit to South Korea
Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, is known for a major role in the ultra-conservative Tea Party movement and she is reportedly weighing a presidential bid for 2012.
Other participants include former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Larry Summers, former director of U.S President Barack Obama's National Economic Council.
Palin was jeered by many last year when she said on a radio show, "Obviously, we've got to stand with our North Korean allies."
She was apparently intending to refer to South Korea.
