Thai businessmen study into industrial crop plantation

VIENTIANE,SETP1. (KPL)- Thai businessmen have reached an agreement with Ministry of Planning and Investment on feasibilities study of sugarcane, cassava and palm plantation and processing in Hinheub, Vientiane province.
According to the agreement, the Thai investors will study into the possibility of developing a 50, 000 ha industrial crop plantation and constructing of a factory, which will be used for processing the agricultural produce, in Hinheub district.
Signatories to the agreement were Minister of Planning and Investment Mr Thongmy Phommisay, Vice-Governor of Vientiane Province Ms Singkham Khongsavanh, Deputy Office Head of Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Mr Khamphanh Meuansitthida, Director of the RTL World Mr. Thaniphat Thoonlertphimoon and President Consultant of the RTL World Mr. Pakaphon Boosing.
The event was witnessed by Thai Ambassador to Laos Mr. Vitavas Srivihok and relevant officials of both sides.
“The investment is to promote the production and plantation of industrial crops and trees of local people in Vientiane province, by promoting their participation in our production system and raw material supply as well as employment,” said Mr. Thaniphat.
