Internet shops face miserly fines for private data leaks

MOSCOW, September 2 (Itar-Tass) -- Two Moscow-based Internet shops
face miserly fines for leaking private data of their clients into public
domain late in July.
The office of the Moscow prosecutor said on Thursday it instituted
administrative cases against the owners of the e-commerce shops that
leaked information into Yandex and Google search engines.
The fines the legal entities face for "violating the rules of
collecting, storing, using and distributing personal data" range from five
5000 to 10 thousand rubles (up to 350 US dollars).
