Half million of tourists use Savannakhet Bridge
(KPL) The number of tourists crossed over the second friendship bridge in Savannakhet province has surged since it was opened in early last year.
Not only tourists but has also local merchants and local people between two countries.
Mr Khamla Sayavong, Head of International Friendship Bridge 2 said that over the nine month almost 500,000 people immigrated via the bridge to Laos and passing to the third country with average of 15 per cent increased.
The majority group was Thai tourist which estimated to 50 and 60 per cent passing via this bridge, he was interviewed on 16 September.
The goods were exported are copper, wood finished products, non-timber forest products while the import included fuel, vehicles and other construction materials.
