Iran Exports $17bln of Non-Oil Products in 5 Months

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran has exported over $17bln worth of non-oil products, including gas condensates, in the first five months of the current Iranian year (started on March 21), a senior official announced on Sunday.
"Official imports to the country stood at $22bln, while the country's non-oil exports, including gas condensates, amounted to $17bln in the first five months of this year," Head of Iran's Customs Office Abbas Memarnejad told FNA.
Memarnejad also said that the country has exported $13bln worth of non-oil goods, excluding gas condensates, in the same period.
He referred to Tehran's plans to increase non-oil exports to $45bln in the current Iranian year, and said given the government's 5-month record in the current year, 90% of the plan has already been implemented.
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in August that the oil-rich country is prepared to increase its non-oil exports to more than 45 billion dollars in the current Iranian year.
President Ahmadinejad went on to say that Iran's non-oil exports surpassed $30billion in the past year.
Iran's non-oil export items mainly include gas condensates, mineral fuels, chemical products, plastics, fruits, nuts, fertilizers and carpets.
