Iranian President Felicitates Vietnamese Counterpart on National Day

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad extended his congratulations to his Vietnamese counterpart Truong Tan Sang on the country's national day.
In his message to Tan Sang, the Iranian president noted both nations' long record in standing against foreign invasion and hegemony, and said this shared feature could help boost Iran-Vietnam ties.

Ahmadinejad further stated that the two countries' giant economic potentials and capacities as well as the two states' firm resolve provide a good impetus for the expansion of relations between the two nations.

He also pointed out that Iran and Vietnam's common views over global issues also help bolster the two countries' cooperation at regional and international bodies.

"An increase in exchanging high-ranking and expert delegations in various political, economic and cultural grounds would be the first step to achieve the abovementioned goals," the Iranian president added.

Ahmadinejad expressed the hope that Iran-Vietnam relations and cooperation would growingly increase as a result of joint efforts by the two countries' officials.
