Yonhap News TV, Hawaii-based Korean channel to link overseas Koreans with homeland

SEOUL, Sept. 5 (Yonhap) -- Yonhap News TV and the Hawaii-based Korean channel KBFD-TV agreed Monday to work toward connecting overseas Koreans with their native land through various joint programs, company officials said.
Under a memorandum of understanding signed at Yonhap News TV's headquarters in Seoul, the two sides will cooperate in video broadcasting and exchange video news content. The agreement is also expected to help Yonhap News TV participate in joint projects with KBFD-TV in Hawaii and facilitate its broadcasts abroad.

KBFD-TV is a 24-hour Korean-language channel that has broadcast news, dramas and various programs since 1986. Yonhap News TV is due to launch in November.
The MOU was inked by Park Jung-chan, president and CEO of Yonhap News Agency, and Chung Yun-hee, president of KBFD-TV at Park's office in downtown Seoul.
