Cosmonauts, astronauts to meet with Russian school pupils.
MOSCOW, September 6 (Itar-Tass) -- Great variety of meetings with
Russian schoolchildren and students is planned for 150 cosmonauts and
astronauts, who arrived in Moscow from 35 countries at the 24th Planetary
Congress of Association of space flights participants.
"All of them will be involved, all will have meetings with
schoolchildren and students," president of the Association's Board Victor
Savinykh told Itar-Tass.
Cosmonauts and astronauts, divided into groups, will go to different
cities of Russia. Some will go to Cheboksary, where they will be present
at the unveiling of the monument to Korolev. Others will be meeting with
students in St. Petersburg, Vladimir, Ryazan, Dubna, Kirov and Samara. A
group of astronauts will fly to Saratov. There they will attend a college,
where Yuri Gagarin studied, and will see the place of his landing.
An extensive schedule of meetings scheduled in Moscow. Members of
space flights will meet with students of the Bauman University, of the
Aviation and Aviation Technology Institute, and of the Institute of
International Relations. Schoolchildren will be able to talk to cosmonauts
and astronauts in the Museum of Space at the VDNH exhibition.
Viktor Savinykh stressed that "the Planetary Congress enables
thousands of students and pupils to expand their horizons and knowledge
about space and space travelling."
