S. Korea to give US$300,000 in food aid to Laos

SEOUL, Sept. 6 (Yonhap) -- South Korea will donate US$300,000 in cash to the U.N.'s World Food Program to help feed women and infants in Laos, officials said Tuesday.
About 40 percent of Lao children are suffering from chronic malnutrition and the money will be used to provide the supplement Plumpy Doz to infants and their mothers in the Southeast Asian nation, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The new supplement is made with vegetable fat, peanut butter, milk and other nutrients, it said.
