Envoy: Western Efforts to Stir Crisis in Region "Futile"
TEHRAN (FNA)- Tehran's Ambassador to Beirut Qazanfar Roknabadi stressed that the West's efforts to spark tension in the region will no doubt prove futile, but meantime asked the regional nations to keep vigilant against the conspiracies and plots hatched by the outsiders.
The issue was raised by Roknabadi in a meeting with Leader of the Lebanese People's Movement Nejah Wakim in Beirut.
During the meeting held at Iran's embassy in Beirut, the two sides discussed the latest developments in the region.
The Iranian diplomat also said that supporters of the Zionist regime of Israel are using different excuses to impose pressure on the front of resistance against Zionist occupation.
"Yet, similar to the past, these types of efforts by enemies are doomed to failure," Roknabadi noted.
Nejah Wakim, for his part, deplored the attempts made by the US and its allies to create tension in the region, and voiced confidence about establishment of tranquility and stability in the region.
