Lee to appear live on TV to talk about wide range of issues

SEOUL, Sept. 7 (Yonhap) -- President Lee Myung-bak will appear live on TV on Thursday night to talk about his policies on a wide range of issues, including his "ecosystemic development" campaign calling for narrowing social inequalities, his spokesman said.
Lee will speak with a four-member panel during the 80-minute show that will be televised on state broadcaster KBS, presidential spokesman Park Jeong-ha said. The broadcaster independently selected the panelists that include two professors, Park said.
"This will be an opportunity to hear the president's candid thoughts about ecosystemic development as well as economic and social issues, such as welfare and employment, and other pending issues," the spokesman said.
Lee has often appeared on TV around major traditional holidays. Thursday's program comes days before the Chuseok holiday, one of South Korea's biggest holidays seen roughly as the equivalent of Thanksgiving Day.
